HBO's miniseries MILDRED PIERCE gave me emotional resonance.
It's the story about one woman, Mildred Pierce, who has tumultuous life. This character presents the new woman who is eager to be wealthy. In Glendale CA 1940s, Mildred had to manage her family, two daughters from being split with his cheating husband. That time isn't good for women to work compare with men.
She had a pride, but she knew the pride won't give her money. She is clever to put the pride down for getting a job, as a waitress at one diner.
OK. we can image what is going on from a lots of movies or TV shows like that. Was it a fantastic fairy-tale?
Well, it wasn't tragedy, but Mildred Pierce lost her lover MONTY and her defiant daughter VEDA, however there was his ex-husband Mr. Pierce anytime.
The husband, BERT PIERCE, isn't main character, but he is the ideal character for this world. This guy did affair, and ran away from his family. But he didn't turn his duty down. He always cares Mildred and her daughter.
I believe that human makes a mistake a lots through one's life. The important thing is whether one has a willing to recover the mistake. Finally he got his position, husband of Mildred, back from Monty.
MILDRED PIERCE IS THE STORY ABOUT THE HUSBAND WHO ALWAYS STAND BY HIS POOR EX-WIFE AND BACK HER UP.
